Services, Support, and Content Management
The School of Business Office of Communications partners with departments, programs, centers, institutes, and schoolwide initiatives to create an aligned web presence that meets the strategic goals and objectives of the School of Business while advancing the unique needs of its individual units. Whether launching a new website, redesigning an existing one, or maintaining day-to-day content, we rely on partners within each unit to maintain ownership of their messaging while we provide the foundational support to create a consistent experience across dozens of School of Business websites and subdomains.
Managing Your School of Business Website
The Office of Communications manages business.uconn.edu and general web pages that fall outside of the scope of individual departments, programs, and centers. For strategic initiatives and high-visibility recruitment efforts, we offer additional support to help maximize the effectiveness of web content and digital marketing investments.
All other School of Business units are encouraged and empowered to take ownership of their web presence, with the guidance and support of the Office of Communications to ensure brand alignment, regulatory compliance, and a consistent digital experience for key audiences. Sites should be administered by at least two full-time faculty or staff members. Student workers may assist with website updates, but should not be the sole web managers for your department or unit.
Student organizations may request RSO websites through the Student Activities Office.
Website Services & Support
The Office of Communications provides the strategic foundation for each website, including design, navigation, analytics, system integrations, accessibility support, and brand stewardship, while giving content owners the tools and training for day-to-day content updates and site maintenance.
For new websites:
As of March 2025, a new block editor has been made available in Aurora, replacing the traditional classic editor. New websites will be created using the block editor theme (Cynder).
School of Business entities seeking to create a new website should first create a request and set up a meeting with the Office of Communications to discuss your needs, goals, and timelines. Our team will provide designated web managers with the access, tools, and training needed to build a successful web presence.
For existing websites:
Contact our team for assistance with updates that may affect end user experience, including:
- Navigation bars
- News posts
- People directories
- Web forms & automated marketing communications
- User administration
- Multimedia needs
- Design changes
- Technical issues
Web Strategy & Content Management
To ensure website content remains accurate and timely, each unit must designate a content manager who serves as the primary contact for website updates and receives content management training from our office.

Our team serves as a strategic partner for web content managers, helping units follow best practices and university standards, while providing users with engaging and useful information. We are happy to meet with you to review your content strategy and goals for your site.
To add or remove web content managers, or to schedule a strategy and goals meeting, please submit a Communications Request Form.
Brand Alignment & Regulatory Compliance
To maintain the integrity of the UConn brand and provide a consistent, accessible user experience compliant with federal, state, and university policies and regulations, our team works closely with University Communications and University IT Services to oversee all websites on the School of Business domain. Contact us with any questions regarding logos, graphics, or major design changes for your site.

For both new and existing School of Business websites, please contact the Office of Communications prior to submitting requests to ITS. We offer additional support for web training and maintenance.
