The UConn School of Business Office of Communications provides digital media production solutions for events and projects as they relate to the publicity and brand management of the school. All requests are reviewed by our team and if we are unable to directly accommodate with staffing, we can provide direction, equipment, or a vendor list.
Our video services are generally reserved for marketing or branding initiatives, however, you can submit your event or idea for review here. We cannot guarantee that we will respond with coverage or staffing but may be able to offer direction and preferred vendors.
Please note, we rarely accept requests for video production based off video captured by people/groups due to inconsistency in quality and style.
Requesting a staff/student photographer:
A four week lead-time is best practice for attempting to secure a photographer. The more advance notice we have, the more likely it is that a staff or student photographer can cover your event. We will also need to know your intended use for the photos. While we cannot guarantee coverage, requests made with less than four weeks notice can have access to a camera kit or approved vendor list:
Contact Vendor
If you choose to contact a vendor, please include the following information:
- Date
- Time
- Location
- Hours Needed
- Turn Around Time Requested
- Specific Photo Requests (Candid vs. Posed, Need Backdrop vs. None, etc.)
- Delivery Format (preferred file transfer)
Borrow Equipment
If you choose to borrow camera equipment, you are welcome to reserve camera equipment at no cost. We offer:
- Canon DSLR with 17-120 lens, SD card, external flash
- Canon point and shoot
Delivery:
If we cover your event, photos from your event will be placed into a flickr album for sharing, and images will be transferred via WeTransfer or Dropbox. In the special case that you would like a high resolution photograph for print, you can contact us directly for a copy.
Faculty and Staff Headshots:
Headshots are not arranged on an individual basis but headshot stations will be set up once or twice a year based on events when the majority of faculty/staff will be close to our home office in Storrs, CT.
The University also offers free faculty portraits every Thursday from 8:30-9:30am but you must schedule your appointment with Steve Criss.
